The decision to switch contracts comes as the public hospital system builds its own retail pharmacy network.
Under its current 340B contract with Capture Rx that expires Dec. 31, the hospital system spent an average of $36 per prescription.
The new contract with RxStrategies would lower its cost per prescription to about $8 or $9, according to the report.
If the $16.1 million contract with RxStrategies is approved by the system’s board, it becomes effective Jan. 1.
