Novo Nordisk has updated its Wegovy savings program, allowing eligible cash-paying patients to access the drug at retail pharmacies for a reduced cost of $499 per month.
Previously this option was available only through the recently launched NovoCare Pharmacy, according to a March 24 news release from the company.
The savings offer applies to all Wegovy dose strengths and replaces the previous $650 per month price for cash-paying patients. Those with commercial insurance that covers Wegovy may pay as little as $0 per month with a maximum savings of $225 per 28-day supply.
Patients enrolled in government-funded healthcare programs are not eligible, the release said.
