Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health has launched NovaCatalyst, a venture designed to expand its pharmacy and imaging services to healthcare organizations nationwide.

NovaCatalyst will support the growth of MedVenta, a provider-led pharmacy solutions company, and MedQuest Imaging, an outpatient imaging provider, according to a June 3 hospital news release. Novant Health said the new structure is intended to broaden access to pharmacy and imaging services while allowing the health system to remain focused on clinical care delivery.

MedVenta launched nearly two years ago and offers services including Mediful, a virtual medication management platform. Novant Health said the program has helped lower out-of-pocket costs for 80% of more than 15,000 patients, achieved an average A1C reduction of 2.1 points and generated a 93% patient recommendation rate.

Novant Health said NovaCatalyst will serve as a platform to expand pharmacy, imaging and future healthcare services beyond the system’s traditional geographic footprint.
