Binghamton (N.Y.) University is expanding its global pharmacy education initiatives through new partnerships with two institutions in India: Nirma University and Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
In January, faculty members traveled to Ahmedabad and Manipal to advance collaborations on pharmacy research, curriculum development and experiential learning, according to a March 3 news release from Binghamton. The visit included hospital site visits, faculty meetings and presentations at the 2026 International Conference on Clinical Pharmacy.
The initiative aims to expose students to diverse healthcare systems and build long-term academic exchanges. In addition to the in-person visit, Binghamton and Nirma faculty coordinated a virtual classroom session in which 63 students from both countries compared approaches to pharmacy care and public health.
Future plans include joint pharmacovigilance research and a shared conference presentation in September, the release said.
