House vote on Pelosi drug pricing bill delayed again

The House will not vote on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s drug pricing bill until at least December, a senior Democratic aide told Politico.

The Congressional Budget Office needs another two weeks to complete its analysis of the legislation, giving the House no time to vote before the Thanksgiving recess, according to The Hill.

This is the second time the vote has been pushed back because the budget office’s analysis is taking longer than expected.

Ms. Pelosi’s bill is expected to pass on a party line vote in the House but die in the Republican-controlled Senate.

It is possible that some smaller drug pricing measures will be included in a government funding deal at the end of the year, but that is uncertain, according to The Hill.

The White House has also expressed favor for a bipartisan bill from Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) over Ms. Pelosi’s bill. Democrats are still pushing for changes to Ms. Pelosi’s bill as well.
