The U.S. Justice Department claims 33-year-old Andrew Fisher agreed to fill illegitimate prescriptions to boost revenue. In addition, Mr. Fisher allegedly paid a commission to marketing representatives who recruited patients to receive compounded drug prescriptions from his pharmacy.
Prosecutors also allege Mr. Fisher, who is not a licensed pharmacist, told his employees to use ingredients that would maximize the amount his pharmacy could bill to insurers.
He faces healthcare fraud, wire fraud and money-laundering charges.
