The Florida Department of Health told the publication that more than 90,000 vaccines have expired or been wasted in the state as of June 11 because they were removed from cold storage and never used.
“The way it’s going right now … a lot of the vaccine will be wasted,” Andy Kimmel, owner of Greenwood Pharmacy in Lake Mary, Fla., told Fox 35 Orlando.
Health officials also told the publication that nearly 6 million vaccines in the state have been sent back to the federal government.
