Under the settlement agreement with the state, Lisa Kwapniowski, PharmD, agreed to admit to the allegations, relinquish her license for a minimum of two years and waive her right to a judicial review.
The settlement stems from allegations brought by the state that Ms. Kwapniowski created a company called RxSYnergy and submitted false invoices for a phony drug and other medications to the Omaha hospital.
Ms. Kwapniowski allegedly deposited the money obtained into a bank account created for RxSYnergy and eventually transferred the funds to her personal account. The petition claims she submitted 231 invoices from the company to the hospital between April 2012 and June 2018, totaling more than $4.4 million.
The children’s hospital fired Ms. Kwapnioswski in June after she was accused of embezzling the money.
