Dr. Lemmon will step into his role July 1, according to a Nov. 22 news release from the university. He succeeds Joseph Schlessinger, PhD, who led the department for more than two decades.
Currently, Dr. Lemmon is deputy director of the Yale Cancer Center and co-director of the Yale Cancer Biology Institute.
