CVS Caremark identified four pipeline drugs that could reshape care delivery in 2026, with potential FDA approvals spanning weight management, diabetes, breast cancer and emergency allergy treatment.
According to the company’s “Q1 Drugs to Watch Report,” the therapies reflect broader trends toward more convenient dosing, expanded access and increasingly patient-centered approaches to care.
The four drugs to watch include:
1. Camizestrant is a targeted oral treatment for breast cancer with ESR1 mutations. If approved, it would be the first therapy used immediately upon detection of the mutation. The FDA had previously targeted a Jan. 15 decision date, but the drug is still spending approval.
2. Anaphylm is a needle-free, oral epinephrine option for emergency allergy treatment. If approved, it would be the first oral epinephrine therapy for patients weighing 30 kilograms or more. The FDA had previously targeted a Jan. 31 decision date, but the drug is still pending approval.
3. Orforglipron is an oral GLP-1 therapy for obesity that could become the second oral option in a market largely dominated by injectable treatments. The FDA has targeted a decision in March 2026.
4. Awiqli is a once-weekly, long-acting insulin drug for Type 2 diabetes. If approved, it would be the first insulin therapy in this category with weekly dosing. The FDA has targeted a March 29 decision date.
CVS Caremark said each of the therapies highlights the industry’s shift toward innovations designed to improve patient experience while maintaining clinical effectiveness.
