Centene vet named COO of Elixir

Elixir, the pharmacy benefit management business of Rite Aid, has named veteran pharma executive Lance Neill as its new COO.

The company said Sept. 7 that Mr. Neill, who most recently worked as vice president of network development and contracting for Centene, will oversee Elixir's core operational functions, including Elixir Insurance.

As COO, Mr. Neill will be responsible for Elixir's strategy development and for ensuring the company is positioned for innovation and growth.

"I am excited to join a purpose-driven company that is committed to helping people achieve whole health for life," Mr. Neill said in a news release.

Mr. Neill has served in several senior leadership positions at healthcare brands, including Diplomat Pharmacy and Walmart.

"Lance is a seasoned and trusted industry executive who consistently delivers results," Heyward Donigan, president and CEO of Rite Aid, said in the news release. "He is uniquely qualified to drive strategic prioritization and accountability within Elixir, with a laser focus on operational excellence. In the months to come, I will work closely with Lance and the rest of the Elixir executive team to continue our march forward."
