Bristol Myers Squibb CEO to retire in November

Bristol Myers Squibb’s CEO plans to retire Nov. 1, and the drugmaker promoted two C-suite leaders effective immediately, according to an April 26 news release.

With Giovanni Caforio, MD, retiring in a few months, Chief Commercialization Officer Christopher Boerner, PhD, was promoted to CFO and Adam Lenkowsky switched from head of major markets to Dr. Boerner’s role, the drug company said. 

Dr. Caforio will continue in his role as executive chair after Nov. 1 during a transition period for the board.
