The Board of Pharmacy Specialties, a certification agency, has recognized Essentia Health Fargo (N.D.) for supporting professional growth in pharmacy specialties.
Through intentional investment, Essentia Health Fargo has increased its number of certified specialty pharmacists from three in 2019 to 36 in 2025, according to a Jan. 14 news release from the board.
The 133-bed hospital’s pharmacy department supports specialists across several areas, including oncology, pediatrics, emergency medicine, infectious disease, cardiology, critical care, informatics and population health.
Essentia Health Fargo has encouraged BPS-certifications through “intentional role development, structured professional growth discussions, and institutional support for certification and recertification costs,” the release said.
The board recognized the hospital with the 2026 Local Beacon Award.
