ASHP welcomes new president-elect

Melanie Dodd, PharmD, is now the president-elect of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Dr. Dodd, the associate dean of clinical affairs at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in Albuquerque, was previously on the ASHP’s board of directors, according to an Aug. 1 news release from ASHP. She is also a former president of the New Mexico Society of Health-System Pharmacists. 

Leigh Briscoe-Dwyer, PharmD, currently serves in the role. Dr. Briscoe-Dwyer is the system pharmacy director of United Health Services’ hospitals in Johnson City, N.Y.

The organization also selected Marie Chisholm-Burns, PharmD, PhD, and Todd Nesbit, PharmD, to serve on its board of directors, the release said. 

Dr. Chisholm-Burns is the executive vice president and provost of Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University, and Dr. Nesbit is the chief pharmacy for the Johns Hopkins Hospital and vice president for pharmacy services at Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore.
