The six hospitals are:

  • Legacy Health Salmon Creek Medical Center (Vancouver, Wash.)
  • Saint Luke’s Hospital (Kansas City, Mo.)
  • University of California San Diego Health
  • University of Chicago Medicine’s Center for Care and Discovery Hospital, Comer Children’s Hospital and Mitchell Hospital

The certificate is a “recognition of the high quality pharmacy services, including operations and patient care, and demonstrates commitment to excellence, continual quality improvement and practice advancement,” according to the ASHP’s website

For the accreditation process, the ASHP evaluates hospitals and health systems through reviewing documents and performing an on-site or virtual survey.

The organization is in the process of reviewing nine other hospitals and systems:

  • City of Hope (Duarte, Calif.)
  • Geisinger Health System (Danville, Pa.)
  • Infirmary Health System’s Mobile (Ala.) Infirmary, North Baldwin Infirmary (Bay Minette, Ala.) and Thomas Hospital (Fairhope, Ala.)
  • Lee Health, Southwest Florida (Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Fla.)
  • Long Island Jewish Valley Stream (N.Y.)
  • Methodist University Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.)
