The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists matched 3,872 individuals with 1,567 pharmacy residency programs in phase 1 of its 2026 Pharmacy Residency Match.
An additional 764 postgraduate first-year residents accepted PGY-2 positions at their current organizations through the ASHP’s early commitment process, according to a March 18 news release from the organization. Of the 5,122 total positions in the match, 1,250 remain open for phase 2.
Applicants may begin submitting phase 2 applications March 23, with results expected April 22.
The ASHP said it has implemented updates to reduce administrative burden on residency programs, including streamlined survey materials and expanded surveyor support. Additional enhancements, including a new residency program database and directory, are planned for later this year, the release said.
