The layoffs will only affect workers at the Memphis plant, where operations were suspended in December 2017 after an FDA inspection. The company also issued a voluntary recall of all drugs compounded at that facility over concerns of proper sterility.
The initial notice by AmerisourceBergen said all 440 employees at the Memphis plant would be affected by the layoffs, but the company said it plans to keep 215 positions.
Affected employees will receive severance and career support services.
