8 Miami pharmacy staff hospitalized after gas leak

A carbon monoxide leak at a Miami pharmacy sickened more than two dozen people and sent eight employees to the hospital Feb. 12, according to WSVN 7 News.

Police and fire rescue units evacuated Navarro Discount Pharmacy after multiple people inside reported nausea and headaches. Officials found high levels of carbon monoxide in the building and said the leak was likely from a gas-powered machine being used to clean the floors.

The store reopened several hours after the incident, and all hospitalized pharmacy employees were in stable condition as of Feb. 12.
