WellCare is incentivizing Kentucky Medicaid recipients to get their COVID-19 vaccine with $100 gift cards.
The initiative offers in-home COVID-19 vaccinations and paired gift cards to Medicaid recipients in an effort to combat rising infection rates statewide, according to the announcement.
WellCare is primarily focusing on rural members, who face vaccination rates nearly 20 percentage points lower than the state average, which is 44 percent.
Visits are made on an opt-in basis and vaccinations will be done by trained medical professionals who can answer questions — a push to cut down on vaccination misinformation.
