The special benefits allow WellCare to specifically address social determinants of health, according to the Nov. 8 announcement

Most notably, the benefits include a “robotic companion pet” that combats symptoms of depression and cognitive decline. The benefit leverages fundamental pet therapy but cuts out the costs associated with owning a live animal.

Benefits also include a flex card to use monthly on utility bills, credits for in-home support — including meal delivery, help with errands or pest control — and grocery or service animal support through a partnership with Shipt.
