UnitedHealthcare subsidiary earns 4-year Nevada Medicaid contract

Health Plan of Nevada, a UnitedHealthcare subsidiary, secured a four-year contract with the State of Nevada as a managed care organization delivering state Medicaid plans.

Health Plan of Nevada will begin offering Medicaid plans to Clark and Washoe counties effective Jan. 1, 2022, according to the Aug. 24 announcement

Health Plan of Nevada now taps into a population of 600,000 residents who meet the state's Medicaid requirements.

"We have been honored to partner with the state of Nevada for more than 24 years to help build a strong Medicaid program," said Kelly Simonson, president of Health Plan of Nevada. "We are committed to serving the health care needs of Nevadans through innovative programs and community investments that increase access to high-quality care and reduce disparities through innovative programs."
