UnitedHealthcare names CEO of Iowa Medicaid plan

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Iowa, a managed Medicaid health insurer, appointed Alissa Weber CEO Jan. 3, according to The Gazette.

Here are three things to know:

1. Effective Jan. 15, Ms. Weber will succeed Kim Foltz as CEO. Ms. Foltz left UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Iowa in July to pursue other opportunities. Bror Hultgren, senior vice president for UnitedHealthcare’s Medicaid business community and state, is currently serving as interim CEO.

2. Ms. Weber most recently was CFO for the health insurer.

3. Before joining UnitedHealthcare, Ms. Weber spent more than 12 years at health insurer Centene Corp. There, she held several leadership positions, including health plan vice president of finance for home state health plan and director of corporate development, according to The Gazette.
