Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare is creating 200 new jobs at its New Mexico offices, according to Albuquerque Business First.
The new positions will primarily be for support in UnitedHealthcare's Medicaid business. The company says over half of the jobs will be filled before the end of the year, and the remaining positions will be filled in 2016.
Medicaid enrollment has drastically increased since New Mexico expanded Medicaid in 2013. As of August 2015, enrollment in Medicaid and the CHIP program has risen by nearly 60 percent.
UnitedHealthcare serves approximately 336,000 people throughout New Mexico. The addition of the new jobs will raise the employee count to over 1,000.
