Under the agreement, Aetna members will be able to access Tenet’s hospitals, emergency centers, outpatient centers and employed physicians at negotiated in-network rates. Tenet operates 65 hospitals and about 500 other healthcare facilities across the U.S.

The agreement lasts four years, with the option of a fifth year extension.

Ron Rittenmeyer, executive chairman and CEO of Tenet, said in a press release, “This agreement supports the hard work of our thousands of caregivers who are passionate about keeping our communities healthy and ensuring access to the very best care.”

Karen Lynch, president of Aetna and executive vice president of CVS Health, said in a prepared statement, “Renewing our contract with Tenet provides Aetna members broader access to quality healthcare services around the country.”
