St. Luke’s rebrands with CommonSpirit name

Houston-based St. Luke’s Health, a CommonSpirit Health member, will begin using the CommonSpirit name in October, and is expanding its collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine to improve patient access.

“St. Luke’s Health has been home to some of the most impactful advances in healthcare, thanks in large part to our collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine,” Augusto “Gus” Sepulveda, MD, chief medical officer of the Houston market of CommonSpirit, said in an Aug. 17 system news release shared with Becker’s. “This expanded relationship and the introduction of the CommonSpirit name represents an evolution.”

In the transition, 11 facilities will be renamed to:

  1. CommonSpirit – Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center – Bertner Campus 
  2. CommonSpirit – Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center – McNair Campus 
  3. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Brazosport
  4. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Lakeside
  5. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Pasadena
  6. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Springwoods Village
  7. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Sugar Land
  8. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – The Woodlands
  9. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Vintage
  10. CommonSpirit Medical Group 
  11. CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Hospital – Emergency Care 

The foundation name will also change to CommonSpirit – St. Luke’s Foundation.

The expanded collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine will better represent the cohesive network of care, the release said, and improve patient access to medical expertise, research and treatment. St. Luke’s and BCM have jointly owned Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center since  2014. 

In early August, Lexington, Ky.-based Saint Joseph Health, another CommonSpirit member, also rebranded its hospitals to use the CommonSpirit name.
