A contract between SRHS and Cigna expires March 31. The health system said it “has been working with Cigna executive leadership to finalize terms for a new contract. However, these discussions have not been successful.”

The potential contract dissolution would not affect Medicare patients covered through Cigna’s HealthSpring plans.

SRSH said negotiations with Cigna are ongoing.
