Savannah's Memorial hospital, Blue Cross renew network deal

Savannah, Ga.-based Memorial Health University Medical Center has renewed its network agreement with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, according to the Savannah Morning News.

The agreement is dated Oct. 1, and Anthem members will not suffer a gap in their coverage.

"Most hospitals and insurers, like Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of GA, renegotiate their contracts every three years," said Becky Keightley, chief communications officer at Memorial. "This is a routine practice in the health insurance industry. We always try to make sure new contracts are complete prior to the expiration date of the previous contract."
