Saint Mary's Health Network in Reno, Nev., may break its contract with Health Plan of Nevada over disagreements regarding Medicaid coverage, reports Reno Gazette-Journal.
Saint Mary's has threatened to stop accepting HPN Medicaid, Medicare and commercial policyholders Oct. 19 if ongoing issues with the carrier are not resolved.
"This termination is a result of contract terms that were not upheld by HPN, which continues to engage in a deliberate and regular practice of denying payment and/or underpaying Saint Mary's for medical services provided to its members," Saint Mary's spokesperson Jamii Uboldi said in a statement.
Health Plan of Nevada parent company UnitedHealthcare said it has not received specific information regarding Saint Mary's Health Plan's allegations against the health plan, according to Reno Gazette-Journal.
Health Plan of Nevada has 57,000 members enrolled in Medicaid, Medicare and commercial products.
