Oak Street Health now in network for 1.6M Aetna members

Chicago-based primary care provider Oak Street Health signed an agreement with CVS Health-owned Aetna to join the health insurer's provider network, the companies said April 9.

Effective April 1, Aetna members with individual Medicare Advantage coverage gained access to Oak Street Health's primary care centers in Indiana and Michigan at in-network rates. The agreement expands Oak Street Health's network to 1.6 million Medicare-eligible Aetna members.

Oak Street facilities offer 24/7 access to a physician and care coordination teams. The primary care chain said its value-based care strategy has reduced Medicare hospitalizations in other Oak Street facilities by more than 40 percent.
