NY State of Health exchange names 2017 insurers

Fourteen health plans will be offered through New York's individual marketplace next year.

Save for WellCare's exit, which impacts less than 1,000 enrollees on New York's Affordable Care Act exchange NY State of Health, all insurers from the 2016 individual marketplace will remain.

The insurers offering individual health plans on NY State of Health next year are below.

  • Capital District Physicians Health Plan
  • CareConnect Insurance
  • Empire BlueCross and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Excellus (Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield in central N.Y. and Univera in western N.Y.)
  • Fidelis Care
  • Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York (EmblemHealth)
  • Healthfirst New York
  • HealthNow New York (BlueShield of northeastern N.Y. and BlueCross BlueShield of western N.Y.)
  • Independent Health
  • MetroPlus Health Plan
  • MVP Health Plan
  • Oscar
  • United Healthcare of New York
