Molina Healthcare acquires Columbia United Providers’ Medicaid assets

Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Healthcare has entered a definitive agreement to acquire assets of Vancouver, Wash.-based Columbia United Providers’ Medicaid business.

Through the agreement, Molina Healthcare of Washington — a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare — will assume CUP’s Medicaid membership in Washington state. CUP currently provides coverage for over 55,000 Medicaid members in the southwestern region of the state of Washington.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016.
