Moda Health reenters Alaska's individual market after financial losses pushed the insurer out

Moda Health will reenter the ACA's individual health insurance exchange in Alaska after exiting the market in 2016, according to The Cordova Times

Moda will reenter the market on Jan. 1, 2020. Alaskans were previously left with only one insurance option on the individual marketplace — Premera Blue Cross — after Moda's exit.

Financial pressures originally pushed Moda out of the market. At the beginning of 2016, Alaska and Oregon insurance regulators suspended Moda Health from accepting new or renewal policies due to financial struggles.
