Microsoft to debut employee health plan with Eastside Health Network, Premera Blue Cross

Microsoft will offer a new custom health plan option, dubbed the the Health Connect Plan, for some of its Washington state employees beginning in 2019.

Microsoft will offer the plan, developed through a collaboration with the Eastside Health Network and Premera Blue Cross, to its employees in King and Snohomish counties, which includes those based at the company's headquarters in Redmond, Wash.

The health plan is focused on integrated care, bringing together services from EHN — a clinically integrated network affiliated with nearly 100 independent practices in Washington — and Premera Blue Cross, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in Mountlake Terrace, Wash.

The Health Connect Plan will include access to pediatric provider network Allegro Pediatrics and Microsoft's on-site clinic, the Living Well Health Center.

Microsoft said its goal for the health plan is to provide more personalized and coordinated care for its employees. One component of the mission is providing employees with a "health connect navigator" to assist them in finding a providers and confirming plan benefits, among other services.

"With more than 100,000 employees and dependents in the [Washington] Puget Sound region, we have a unique opportunity to shape the healthcare landscape in meaningful ways through the plans we offer to our employees and in our partnerships with the healthcare community," said Kristen Roby Dimlow, corporate vice president of total rewards and performance at Microsoft.
