Conducted by the Louisiana Rural Mental Health Alliance, the survey gauged provider sentiments on claims, authorizations, audits, credentialing and overall satisfaction.

The report gave managed care organizations the following grades:

1. Aetna: C-

2. AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana: C-

3. Healthy Blue: D

4. Louisiana Healthcare Connections: C+

5. Magellan Healthcare: A-

6. UnitedHealthcare Community Plan: C+

The report notes that dissatisfaction with the majority of payers is indicative of “administrative frictions” that drive mental health providers that accept Medicaid out of business.
