The Lewin Group, a UnitedHealth Group-owned consulting firm based in Falls Church, Va., is seeking a managing consultant and health economist who will help federal agencies prepare for the next national crisis by probing insurance claims data, according to a report from The Washington Post.
The individual would serve as a lead researcher with Lewin's national security and emergency preparedness practice.
In discussing the kind of research this person will do, Paul Hogan, senior vice president and practice director for federal national security and emergency preparedness, told The Washington Post that the firm has developed models to test whether the scope of practice laws impact health outcomes. Also, he said in the report, another project involves how U.S. demographics are going to change, and the affect that will have on how much healthcare is needed.
