Humana will continue to provide Medicare coverage to West Virginia's 54,000 retirees under a new four-year contract with the state's Public Employees Insurance Agency effective Jan. 1, 2022, according to a June 15 news release.
"Our Humana team is thrilled to serve the state's Medicare-eligible retirees and to continue to provide access to quality care from the expansive network of doctors and hospitals that we have in place," Humana Regional Medicare President Eric Bohannon said in the statement.
PEIA has been a Humana client since 2010.
The payer currently provides health plans, services and coverage options to 170,000 West Virginia residents, the statement said.
