The two indices — the 2016 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index — recognize businesses that support economic, environmental and social sustainability practices.
This is Louisville, Ky.-based Humana’s 10th consecutive year on the indices. Dow Jones singled out Humana as a leader in the healthcare providers and services sector. The company “assumes an active role in the search for solutions and the creation of effective, sustainable healthcare systems by engaging with all relevant stakeholder groups.”
Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare has been named to the sustainability indices for the past 18 years. UnitedHealthcare ranked in the 98th percentile in the healthcare providers and services sector.
