Humana to acquire Florida home health provider

Humana announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire One Homecare Solutions. The acquisition is part of the payer’s strategy to offer value-based home healthcare, according to a June 14 news release.

Humana also announced a $5.7 billion-deal with home health and hospice provider Kindred at Home April 27.

“By combining onehome’s value-based approach with Kindred’s home health services and Humana’s analytical capabilities and clinical expertise, we believe we can create a transformational value-based offering to serve more people, including non-Humana plan members, nationwide,” Humana’s interim CFO, Susan Diamond, said in the statement.

Onehome’s value-based model currently operates in Florida and Texas, according to the statement.
