Humana posted third-quarter revenues of $16.2 billion in 2019, up 14.3 percent year over year from $14.2 billion. Revenue gains included growth in the insurer’s Medicare Advantage membership, which grew 17 percent to $14.1 billion in the third quarter of this year.
At the same time, Humana’s expenses grew 16.1 percent to $15.4 billion, up year over year from $13.2 billion. After including nonoperating results, the insurer ended the third quarter of 2019 with net income of $689 million, up 7 percent from $644 million posted in the same quarter of 2018.
