Humana adds online mindfulness programs to employer resources

Louisville, Ky.-based Humana added online mindfulness training programs to its resource of online wellness tools for employers.

The programs, created by Vero Beach, Fla.-based eMindful, are evidence-based mindfulness programs that aim to reduce risk factors that contribute to chronic conditions and higher healthcare costs. Program topics include stress and weight management, living with diabetes, and tobacco cessation. Employees participate and interact online via live, webinar-style classes that can be viewed on work computers, mobile devices or in group settings.

This year, 22 percent of Fortune 500 companies are expected to use mindfulness programs to increase employee health, attendance, productivity and quality of life, according to the report.
