Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners will limit its Affordable Care Act exchange footprint in Minnesota for 2017, Star Tribune reports.
HealthPartners will cut its service area from the 67 counties it currently operates in to seven counties in the Twin Cities area and four counties in the St. Cloud area.
The health plan's Senior Vice President Donna Zimmerman said the majority of HealthPartners' policyholders reside in the 11 counties. However, roughly 9,100 members will need to find plans for 2017.
About 5 percent of Minnesota residents purchase health plans through the state's exchange, MNsure, according to the report.
