Health insurers in the news: April 7-14

The following insurers made headlines this week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. How much of a bonus did Aetna's CEO receive this year?
Last summer, Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna inked a $37 billion deal to acquire Louisville, Ky.-based Humana. The deal is expected to go through this year, but Aetna's CEO and other top executives are already reaping the benefits. 

2. Changes to Partners' health plan limits access to care for poor at Boston Children's
An insurance plan designed to provide coverage to low-income families changed its contract, which will result in restricted access to specialists at Boston Children's Hospital.

3. Will Aetna relocate its headquarters?
Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna is being courted by other cities, including Boston. 

4. Humana launches TV ad campaign for seniors
Louisville, Ky.-based Humana is looking to reach out to its senior demographic through a new medium: television.

5. Investigators find flaws in 3 state health insurance websites
The Government Accountability Office found cybersecurity weak points in the health insurance websites of three states: California, Kentucky and Vermont.

6. Hawaii insurer forced to end business
A court order forced Family Health Hawaii, the state's smallest insurer, to close immediately.

7. Aetna pays employees up to $500 per year for sleeping
What if your job paid you to sleep? Health insurer Aetna is doing just that.
