HCSC appoints 2 senior leadership members: 7 things to know

Chicago-based Health Care Service Corporation named a new senior vice president and chief financial officer Monday.

HCSC includes Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans for Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Here are seven things to know about the appointments:

Eric Feldstein will act as HCSC's senior vice president and CFO. He will manage accounting, financial planning, treasury, tax and procurement activities.

1. Mr. Feldstein will also oversee HCSC's actuarial group and make decisions involving underwriting and product pricing.

2. Before the appointment, he served as the executive vice president of American Express Company's Enterprise Growth Group, and held senior operating and finance positions at General Motors and GMAC Financial Services.

3. He began working for HCSC in May 2016 and will succeed HCSC's previous senior vice president, Ken Avner.

4. Mr. Feldstein has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in economics from Columbia University.

Blair Todt will lead HCSC's legal affairs team and provide legal advice and consultation to the company.

5. Mr. Todt held many senior management positions at Tampa, Fla.-based WellCare Health Plans, where he worked since 2010.

6.  He previously served as the senior vice president for MedCath, deputy general counsel for BearingPoint and partner with Carter, Conboy, Case, Blackmore, Maloney & Laird. 

7. Mr. Todt earned his law degree from Brooklyn (N.Y.) Law School and his bachelor's degree in political communication from The George Washington (D.C.) University.
