Nashville, Tenn.-based Clover Health is nearly doubling its Medicare Advantage reach by entering 101 new counties and one new state ahead of the 2022 open enrollment period.
Ninety-four of the new counties expand Clover Health's presence in states it currently serves, while seven expand the insurer's reach to Alabama for the first time, a Clover Health spokesperson told Becker's.
"We strive to offer plans with the most benefits at the lowest cost on a wide, open network because we believe these three components working in concert are essential to making high-quality, affordable care more widely available, especially for those who have historically lacked access," Andrew Toy, president of Clover Health, said in an Oct. 1 news release. "We continue to invest in market-leading plan design, while continuing to iterate to make the Clover Assistant the best possible clinical software to manage the care of our beneficiaries."
