The plans, called Cigna Connect, will network with a majority of Arlington Heights, Ill.-based AMITA Health and Chicago-based Presence Health primary care physicians, hospitals and specialty practices.
The plans will be offered in five Illinois counties — Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee and Will.
Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and its subsidiary Harken Health will exit Illinois’ market in 2017. Prior to Cigna’s entrance, the Illinois Department of Insurance said three-fourths of Illinois counties will have one or two payers offering coverage next year on the state’s ACA exchange.
