Cigna to close South Dakota site

Cigna will close one of its sites in Sioux Falls, S.D., and consolidate operations into another facility in the city, according to a company statement obtained by the Argus Leader.

The closure will affect employees at the site, though Cigna declined to say how many workers might be affected by the change. The insurer employs between 400 and 500 people at the offices, according to the report.

In an email to the Argus Leader, Cigna spokesperson Jennifer Luddy said only a small number of employees would be affected and the insurer will maintain a "substantial presence in the community."
