Cigna scoops up ex-Aetna physician for new medical exec role

Cigna named former Aetna leader Jeffrey Langsam, DO, market medical executive for its Connecticut market, according to the Hartford Business Journal.

In the newly created role, Dr. Langsam will head up collaboration with physician and hospital systems, network development, client growth and retention, medical costs, and other areas.

He previously worked as a medical director at Cigna’s competitor Aetna. He was also in private practice for seven years as a hematologist/oncologist, and was an attending physician at New Britain-based Hospital of Central Connecticut.
