Cigna, BCBS name new leaders & 3 other exec payer moves

From Blue Cross and Blue Shield to Cigna, here are five executive payer moves to know about:

1. Cigna named Debra Kaplan-Lewis as its Connecticut Medicare market leader Nov. 8. Ms. Kaplan-Lewis brings with her a decade of experience with Medicare.

2. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts on Nov. 10 announced Manny Lopes as its executive vice president of public markets and government relations, according to a news release shared with Becker's. Mr. Lopes formerly served East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, Massachusetts' largest community health center, as president and CEO.

3. Molina Healthcare said Nov. 9 that industry veteran Jack Stephenson will serve as its New York plan president. Mr. Stephenson formerly led payer strategy for the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and helmed Empire BCBS HealthPlus under Anthem. 

4. Aetna's former care engagement lead Liz Horgan is joining virtual care platform Summus Global as its chief marketing officer, the company announced Oct. 20.

5. Flume Health named Andrew MacGill as its vice president of product, the payer announced Nov. 10. Mr. MacGill brings 15 years of experience from companies such as Pager, Rally Health, Spotlite and PerkSpot.
