The California DOI hearing is set to take place at 9 a.m. at the State Capitol in Sacramento.

The California Department of Managed Health Care has already held a hearing on the pending merger.

Previously, the Department of Insurance and the Department of Managed Care have held hearings on the merger between two other health insurers, Anthem and Cigna. If approved, the Anthem-Cigna deal will have a greater impact on California’s market, as Anthem is currently offered through Covered California, the state’s insurance exchange.
