Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Ohio and the Ohio Independent Collaborative will launch a patient-centered care plan for Anthem Medicare Advantage members, designed to lower the cost of healthcare while improving overall quality.
The Enhanced Personal Health Care program, which Anthem launched in 2013, promotes patient-centered care and provides value-based compensation to providers.
"I am pleased that Anthem and OIC are working together to provide access to quality healthcare to the region," said Jim Pugliese, regional vice president of provider solutions for Anthem in northern Ohio. "Anthem is an industry leader in developing programs like this one that rewards quality care and ultimately reduces costs for consumers."
The program aims to deliver high-quality care to Anthem Medicare Advantage members and to reduce costs by promoting great preventative care, enhanced care coordination and effective chronic disease management.

Anthem Medicare Advantage members who utilize OIC providers may see improved access to care and more personalized treatment plans as the partnership matures.
